Why Ultrasounds Are Important
An ultrasound is one of the ways to actually confirm your pregnancy. It can also tell you how many weeks pregnant you are, which could determine which options are available to you and whether it is an ectopic (or tubal) pregnancy, which can be life threatening. If you are considering parenting or placing for adoption, having an ultrasound allows us to provide documentation to help you apply for insurance and other resources that require confirmation of pregnancy.
Important
It is important you do not consider a chemical abortion or take the abortion pills without first having an ultrasound to verify viability and gestational age.
Risk of taking Chemical Abortion Pills Without Having an Ultrasound:
- Ectopic Pregnancy
- Incomplete Abortion
- Infection
- Hemorraging
